After residency training, I served as an anesthesiologist in the Air Force for four years of active duty. During that time, I was stationed at Travis Air Force Base, CA, and was deployed to a tertiary trauma hospital for two tours of duty in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2007-2009. Although physically challenging, working in a war zone proved to be an unparalleled clinical experience that continues to benefit my patients today.
After my time in the Air Force, my family and I moved back to Wisconsin in the summer of 2010. We love all that the Fox Cities area has to offer in all four of its seasons. I am frequently requested to take care of friends, local families, and staff in the hospital. I find it rewarding to serve our community as a physician who lives and works here.
My family members and I have had surgery, so I understand how the preparation for surgery or childbirth may be a stressful and anxiety-provoking time. Just as your life is in the hands of your pilot when you fly in a commercial aircraft, so too it is with your anesthesia provider during surgery. This responsibility is one I take seriously. I want you to know that your safety and well-being are my priority. You will receive high quality, patient-centered, and physician-led care.
I enjoy taking care of all ages of patient – from newborns and young children to seniors – and am experienced in tailoring the anesthetic and postoperative pain plan to meet each individual’s special needs and health concerns.
When we meet before your procedure, we will talk about your medical history and the options for anesthesia, which may include general anesthesia (being in a reversible, medically-induced unconscious state), regional anesthesia (“numbing up” part of your body), or sedation. I will then take time to answer any questions you may have and address your concerns regarding the anesthetic.
I sincerely thank you for choosing our facility and putting your trust in us to have your surgery/procedure. When you receive a survey about the anesthetic care you have received, please take a few minutes to provide your feedback. I look forward to serving you and your family’s needs.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and 3 children, playing in a rock band (bass guitar and vocals), traveling, SCUBA diving, skiing, exercising, running, biking, hiking
