Tyler Higginson CRNA

About Tyler

Early on in my professional career it became apparent the complexities of taking care of someone who is not able to care for themselves. After multiple years of bedside & intensive care nursing, talking with patients & their families, managing complex life supporting medications & machines, I decided to take the next step in advancing my knowledge & abilities to provide for people by attending and obtaining my anesthesia education.

After working for many years in a community hospital, I was intrigued by new techniques in surgery and anesthesia that were not available at my hospital. I pursued a career with the VA to learn these techniques, work in a teaching role professionally as a clinical preceptor, and as a professional colleague trading experiences with traditional techniques for education in new technologies.

The experience gained working in an urban setting helped me to grow as a practitioner and to realize that I wanted to bring this knowledge with me. The opportunity came for me to work in a small, rural, critical access hospital in Waupaca, WI. I seized that chance to combine my experiences into a new practice setting for me, where my ability to care for patients of all ages and my ability to contribute professionally to my hospital would be fostered.

With each patient that I provide care for, I strive to make a personal connection. This is a very vulnerable point in a person’s life, they need to entrust their care to another human being. We often do not get to spend much time together, but I will do everything in my experience and education to give you safe, personal care, and devotion. Often you will see a smile on my face as I greet you because I love the opportunity to meet so many people in my career.
