Electrophysiology Studies

An Electrophysiology Study allows a cardiologist to determine, and possibly alter (or ablate) the electrical pathways of your heart. The cardiologist does this by passing special catheters through one of your blood vessels all the way to the heart. At the same time, he/she may perform additional procedures that involve the heart. You will receive sedation from an anesthesia provider for your Electrophysiology Study, if this is requested by your cardiologist.
